New Cherokee Latitude LUX is Luxury Without the High Price Tag

Perhaps Jeep is trying to make us feel a little better during a tough year, or maybe they just wanted to give Jeep drivers more options. Whatever the reason, we're happy to find out there's a new, more luxurious Jeep Cherokee available that won't break the bank. Jeep introduced the new 2021 Cherokee Latitude LUX trim option in early October and we are delighted!

While the new LUX trim is not top-of-the-line for the Jeep Cherokee, it does give one a lot of bang for their buck and feels like luxury. The Jeep Cherokee Latitude LUX comes standard with the upgrade engine, the Jeep 3.2-liter Pentastar V6, that produces 271 horsepower and 239 lb-ft of torque with a 9-speed automatic transmission. You'll have to shell out for the Jeep Cherokee Limited to get all the features, but the LUX offers just enough to make you feel posh. Included with the LUX are new standard premium amenities like:

  • Nappa leather seats
  • Heated front seats
  • Heated steering wheel
  • Power front seats with adjustable lumbar support
  • Uconnect with Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™ integration
  • Windshield wiper de-icer
  • Remote start

Available features include a dual-pane panoramic sunroof, 9-speaker Alpine audio system, and an 8.4-inch touchscreen. And, of course, you can still upgrade the Cherokee Latitude LUX with plenty of optional features. Three groupings are available to maximize value, and each group includes:

  • Comfort and Convenience - security alarm, auto-dimming rearview mirror, dual-zone climate control, universal garage door opener, power liftgate, 115-volt power outlet and that 8.4-inch touchscreen, along with a 7-in color transistor display.
  • Sun and Sound - You get the Alpine 9-speaker sound system with subwoofer as well as the panoramic sunroof
  • Trailer Tow - Class III hitch receiver, heavy-duty engine cooling, transmission auxiliary oil cooler, four- and seven-pin trailer-tow wiring harness and, if you get the 4x4, a full-size spare tire.

Every Jeep Cherokee Latitude LUX comes standard with Jeep's Selec-Terrain traction control system, providing five drive modes to help you maximize on- and off-road performance. The Pentastar V6 engine boasts a best-in-class towing capability of 4,500 lbs* and gets an impressive 20 city/29 highway mpg**. Plus, you get plenty of standard safety features, including:

  • Blind-spot Monitoring
  • Full-speed Forward Collision Warning with Active Braking
  • Rear Cross Path detection
  • Rain-sensing wipers
  • LED fog lamps, taillights, and headlights
  • LaneSense Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keep Assist
  • ParkView rear backup camera and park assist
