For 2021, the Ram 1500 frame was modified 74% to become thicker and boxed, with more steel to help prevent bending after doing off-road jumps. Ram redesigned the frame to look different from 2020 and be a more versatile, 'go-anywhere' truck. Exclusive Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive dampers allow the new Ram 1500 TRX to have different shock settings for everyday driving, as well as towing, rock crawling, dune riding and all-around sport driving. No small feat for a half-ton pickup truck. The Ram TRX has a max towing capacity of 8,100 lbs off the hitch or 1,310 lbs in the truck bed, beating out its closest competitor, the Ford Raptor, by 100 pounds and 110 pounds, respectively. For such a beast, the Ram 1500 TRX is quite agile and light on its heavy-duty feet. With eight driving modes - Sport, Snow, Custom, Mud/Sand, Rock, Baja - ground clearance of 11.8" and water fording of up to 32 inches, the new TRX is made for whatever obstacle you encounter.
The Ram 1500 TRX is huge and has an equally large cabin. Inside, you'll find plenty of creature comforts like premium materials in the seating - leather trim, Alcantara® suede, carbon fiber trim, contrast red stitching, as well as advanced features like Head-Up Display, a 19-speaker Harman Kardon® premium audio system, aluminum paddle shifters, and a center gear shifter.
