Get Ready to Go Anywhere. The New Charger has All-Wheel Drive

2020 Dodge Charger GT AWD

All-wheel drive never looked so good. The new 2020 Dodge Charger GT AWD provides year-road, all-weather performance and that enviable muscle-car style, making it America's only four-door muscle car with AWD. Let's take a look at this four-season capable AWD performance car.

Muscle Car Aesthetic
Don't worry, nothing was sacrificed, the menacing look of the Dodge Charger remains in tact. The new 2020 Dodge Charger GT may come equipped with all-wheel drive but it retains its renown performance styling:

  • performance hood, fascia, sculpted side sills, and spoiler
  • Houndstooth cloth high-bolstered performance seats
  • Dark Dub Plate instrument panel
  • performance steering wheel with paddle shifters

Plus, the Super Track Pak button activates Dodge Performance Pages and launch control features, a feature which provides such performance information as:

  • reaction times
  • 0-60 times
  • JG-force indicator
  • lap times

The 2020 Wrangler Black & Tan offers drivers a unique take on Jeep's distinctly iconic style.

Muscle Car Power
The Charger GT AWD includes Dodge's award-winning 3.6-liter Pentastar V-6 engine that puts out 300 horsepower at 6,350 rpm and a responsive 264 lb.-ft. of torque at 4,800 rpm.

The V-6 is paired to the standard TorqueFlite eight-speed automatic transmission, which provides up to 18 city/27 hwy mpg (EPA-estimated). The Charger GT AWD includes a tuned induction system and dual exhaust from the manifolds back to the tips, which help deliver more than 90% of the engine's peak torque from 1,800 to 6,400 rpm. And this, produces outstanding drivability and responsiveness.

All-Weather Traction
The new Charger GT AWD includes P235/55R19 BSW all-season performance tires mounted on 19-inch aluminum wheels in a Satin Carbon finish with a Black Noise option.

All-Weather Safety
Now that you're free to roam down snowy roads, you'll be happy to hear the following safety features come standard on the new Charger GT AWD:

  • projector LED fog lamps
  • ParkSense rear park assist
  • ParkView rear backup camera

All-Weather Performance
The Charger's class-exclusive active transfer case delivers excellent all-season performance and fuel economy. The all-wheel drive Charger will automatically transition between rear-wheel drive and all-wheel when necessary. However, drivers may engage the AWD system full-time with the push of the Sport button.

Alternatively, drivers who prefer the rear-wheel-drive performance of the Charger, can keep the AWD off and 100% of the torque will be directed to the rear wheels, thus preserving that race car feel and handling. But, if the system's sensors indicate the need for more traction, it will automatically transition the Charger into all-wheel-drive for passenger safety.

The new Charger includes Vehicle Dynamic Control (VDC), which increases traction on wet surfaces, as well as an Electronic Stability Control (ESC) system that enhances on-road dynamic performance using precise front-to-rear torque control.
